Joni Cox Smith is co-owner and CEO of The Club at Lake Sinclair. Joni was born and raised in Milledgeville, Georgia and a graduate of John Milledge Academy where she met Ted Smith. They married in 1978 and have been partners in life and business ever since.

Joni started her business career as Customer Service Manager at Exchange Bank. When Ted began his first engineering company, she left the bank to manage the accounting for their growing business endeavors. As their business and family continued to grow, Joni stepped back to became a full time mom and an active philanthropist donating her energies and skills to local charities and community organizations.

Together, the Smiths have been active members of their Church and have always given back to their community by supporting local school institutions, businesses and charitable organizations that help make Milledgeville the perfect community to live, work and play. Joni and Ted are proud to have raised three sons in Milledgeville and thrilled that each are now raising their families here. Joni and Ted are proud grandparents of eight grandchildren and enjoy watching their activities.

Joni's hobbies include playing cards at The Club, pickle ball, traveling and deep sea sport fishing. She has even dusted of the old Clubs and is working on her golf game! Joni and Ted joined the Milledgeville Country Club in the early 1980's and were active Members of MCC; celebrating special occasions and building life-long friendships while enjoying the family atmosphere that can only be found at your hometown Club.

When the Milledgeville Country Club was struggling financially in 2016, Joni and Ted decided to once again invest in their community, not only to preserve the history of their hometown Club, but to make the necessary improvements that would allow the Club to remain a vibrant and relevant asset to the community for years to come. After a 24 month renovation, Milledgeville Country Club was transformed into The Club at Lake Sinclair and Aubri Lanes at the Club.
