Dear TCLS Friends,

There have been many questions regarding possible development here at The Club at Lake Sinclair. Joni & Ted Smith have asked that we share the "broad strokes" of any development currently being considered here at TCLS. First and foremost, it is our intent to respect the rich history of the Club and our service to the Milledgeville Baldwin County Community over the last 67 years. Our intent is to always offer an 18-hole championship golf course and a Clubhouse for family, friends, and the community to gather. To that end, we have engaged a community land planner to recommend how we might best utilize and improve our current property. The expanded tennis and pickleball facilities are still one of our first goals. Supply chain issues initially caused the delay to this project, however the delay has given us an opportunity to reconsider their best location in relation to any additional development. There are several other development opportunities under consideration, which include a parking lot and Clubhouse expansion. Neither would infringe upon our continued operation with our current amenities. Please forward any questions directly to my office.

We may need to change the old idiom pertaining to the month of March to "in like a soggy lion and out like a drenched lamb"! Milledgeville's 2023-24 winter was cold and wet; our hopes for a warm and dry March have gone unanswered. Darren and his team have been hard at work to minimize the damage that results from excessive moisture. In February we fixed the erosion areas on holes 1,2,3 and 17. Heavy rains washed away the new sod the next day. Darren and his team immediately reset the sod; the predicted warm temperatures will be helpful as the sod becomes established. Please watch for details regarding the second annual "Member Volunteer Days" coming April 21 & 22.

Please visit Dan in the Golf Shop to view a wide variety of new inventory! Our TCLS Stanley Cup type tumblers have been a hit and we have recently received new apparel from Onward Reserve and Scales. Dan has been busy giving lessons and will incorporate our new launch monitor the "Foresight Quad" in the coming weeks. We also purchased the swing simulator attachment for the Quad. Watch for announcements regarding the introduction of our new swing simulator! Our 9 hole golf league, Ball Busters in back in session; please visit our new Golf Blog at golfblog.tcls.club for information regarding upcoming golf tournaments, course conditions, and general information about daily golf operations directly from your Golf Professional, Dan Elliott PGA and your Golf Course Superintendent, Darren Davenport, GCSAA. Watch for details explaining how to navigate our new blog.

Approximately 50 members enjoyed a wonderful Pickleball get-together in March. We would like to give a special "thank you" to the volunteers who jumped in to help when our professional instructor was unable to make it. Kathy Neumann, Lisa McCastlain, Heather Blanchette, and Casey Bilz helped all skill levels enjoy the clinic. The Club will host another clinic in April featuring Processional Pickleball Instructor Drew Herbert from Reynold at Lake Oconee. We have more than 600 Members who have reserved to help us celebrate Easter at our three events "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, "The Easter Egg Hunt" and Sunday Brunch with the Easter Bunny".

As our Membership has grown over the last several years, we have reduced "Guest Golf" privileges while increasing the cost. Our goal was to preserve valuable tee time inventory for dues paying members. Several concerned members have asked that we offer an affordable "Nonresident Family Rate" to allow visiting immediate family members an opportunity to enjoy golf when they visit the lake. Beginning April 1, 2024, we will offer a "Nonresident Immediate Family Guest Rate "of $35.00 to include greens and cart fee with a limit of 10 rounds per calendar year. This fee does not apply to immediate family members living within 50 miles of Milledgeville. Please reach out to Dan Elliott or myself if there are any questions. We hope folks find value from this added Member Benefit.

Beginning April 1, 2024 monthly Golf dues will increase from $275 to $290 and monthly Social dues will increase from $190 to $200. We strive to offer the best value for your social and athletic enjoyment. Since our opening more than six years ago, we have only increased dues twice, amounting to less than 1.5% annually. We are committed to continually increasing the value of your membership. Please let us know how we might better serve you and your family's social and athletic needs.

Looking forward to a great summer season!
Jeff & the TCLS Team
