July 2023 Member Letter

Dear Friends,

We finished June with a flurry of activity to include a very successful Poker Run boating event and our semi-annual Oconee River Kayaking trip. Madison and her crew finished the first month of summer camps and the pool has been a hub of summertime activity. Darren has the Golf Course looking good with a little help from Mother Nature and her afternoon rains. Thanks to all the Member volunteers who help Darren and his team! David has the Golf Shop well stocked and is hosting Club Fitting events all summer. Thanks to MGA President, Scott Gower for his leadership and vision as the Men's Golf Association goes about the mission of "Improving the golf experience for all Club Members" Please watch for information regarding our Club Championship and our Member-Member Tournament, both to be held in August.

Here at The Club, we are going to embrace the "Dog Days" of summer with plenty of "cool" events, in the Club, at the pool, on the sports court and on the Golf Course. We will start July off with a "BANG" at our Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023. We have more than 300 members already signed up to enjoy our pool party, our BBQ and our pyrotechnic display. Special thanks go to Charles Baxley as the leader of a group of volunteers and employees who helped set up this year's show. Jim Blanchette, Michael Koenig and our very own Greg Prosser are officially junior pyromaniacs... I mean pyro-technicians. Baldwin County Fire Rescue will provide Engine 7 for adults of all ages to tour from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday and BCFR will also provide Engine 7, Brush Truck 7 and Fire Boat 1 for safety during and after our show.

We have reached our self-imposed membership cap of 600 family members! This is truly an amazing accomplishment for a small Club in a community our size. This is a tribute to our amazing ownership and team, but most of all our wonderful Member Families. When Ted & Joni Smith purchased the defunct Milledgeville Country Club, they asked industry experts if The Club at Lake Sinclair could be a viable business. Many doubted the success of TCLS, especially in such a small market, but Joni had a vision of a Social & Athletic Club that presented families with an incredible value. It is amazing what can happen when a great idea, a great team and a great group of people come together. Thanks to all our member families that make TCLS a great place to play, dine and celebrate life. We continue to accept applications for Membership. We will prioritize these requests based on existing Member referrals and Legacy status.

We hope everyone has a great summer. Please be sure to make time to enjoy your Club and your Club Family!

Thank you for allowing our team to serve!

Sincerely,
Jeff
