November Member Letter

Dear TCLS Members,

During the last month, we have been flirting with fall. With recent freezing temperatures, it looks like we might skip fall and head directly into winter. Not to worry; Jason, Greg, Madison, David and the entire team have a full Social and Athletic Calendar for the remainder of 2022. I know I can be long-winded, so I have titled each topic so you can read about what interests you most. There will be a whirlwind of activities over the next few months; please make the opportunity to enjoy the fellowship, Holiday cheer and all your Club has to offer.

Welcome Darren Davenport, GCSAA

We are pleased to announce the recent addition of Darren Davenport as our new Golf Course Superintendent. Darren comes to us with a wealth of knowledge earned while he maintained two award-winning golf courses in the Augusta area. Please welcome Darren the next time you see him around the course. His door is always open and he would love to consider your feedback.

Pickle Ball Explosion

As predicted by many, the Pickle Ball explosion has happened in Milledgeville. We have enjoyed several lessons with Ray Brindley, our USAPA Pickle Ball Ambassador and PPR Coach. With the help of several Member Leaders, spearheaded by Kathy Neumann, we are planning many improvements in our courts, equipment and programming. Please thank our Member Leaders and watch for announcements as we improve.

MGA Membership

The Men's Golf Association represents all golfing Members as an advisory committee to help promote the golf and fellowship at The Club at Lake Sinclair. As we have done for the past two years, we ask that all Golfing Members participate in the Men's Golf Association. Annual Dues is only $25 and will be billed on your December Statement. Anyone wishing to opt out of this program can do so by contacting Renee at [email protected]. The MGA Leadership would like to thank you for your support.

Bobby Brown Senior Club Championship

We are pleased to announce the First Annual Bobby Brown Senior Club Championship. The Senior Club Championship has been dedicated to our long-time member, golfer and friend Bobby "Padnah" Brown. Many know the story, but for those who do not, here goes: Bobby would quietly sneak away from the dogfight group each morning to enjoy a cigarette under a cypress tree before teeing off. Shortly after his passing, the tree mysteriously tumbled over. We recovered the wood and engaged Mr. Lynn Duggar to create a trophy dedicated to Bobby. Please stop by the Golf Shop and view Mr. Duggar's artisanship.

Holiday Gift Fund

We will once again offer each Membership to participate in the Employee Holiday Gift Program. This popular program offers Members the chance to donate $30 per membership, billed to their November Statement. 100% of the funds collected will be distributed to all employees at The Club at Lake Sinclair and Aubri Lanes. Anyone wishing to opt out of this program or to increase his or her donation amount can do so by contacting Renee at [email protected]. Thank you for your generosity.
