Dear TCLS Friends,
Halloween will be a recent memory by the time you read this with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner. Our cooler nights have made me appreciate the warm sunny days of fall that much more! Remember to “fall back” on Sunday, November 5 and set your clocks back one hour!
From The Course:
Now that the grass is beginning to slow its growth, Darren and his team will begin off-season projects that will pay dividends next spring and all year long. We have over-seeded our driving range teeing ground as well as all par three teeing grounds. We are creating pine straw beds in many areas where our famous Georgia Pine roots have surfaced and affect play. Darren is in the process of applying pre-emergence weed control and pigmenting the putting greens before the grass goes completely dormant. Our wonderful MGA, LGA and Golf Members in general have requested we host another Volunteer Day weekend on Sunday November 12 and Monday November 13. Please watch for details about scheduling and registration. Please remember the clubhouse, the golf course and the driving range are closed on Monday so we might accomplish vitally necessary weekly maintenance. Also, please do not “loan” your range card to non-members. We have seen an influx of non-members using the range. Range privileges are an exclusive benefit for golf members and are not transferable.
From The Golf Shop:
David is not slowing down during his last 90 days at TCLS. Although the Ball Busters Golf League is over for 2023, we will host a bracketed double elimination “Match Play” event where golfers arrange match times based on each opponent's availability. Couples Golf, Golf Clinics and Demo Days will round out the year. David has new inventory in the Golf Shop, so come do your Christmas Shopping early. There is still plenty of time to place a special order for that special person’s Christmas Gift! Our Men’s Golf Association will host a meeting on Saturday, November 4 at 8:00 am, followed by the return of the MGA Dogfight to Saturday mornings during the winter. Our entire Golfing Community at the Club is in the planning stages for an annual “Ryder Cup” style event honoring David’s loyal service over the last 30+ years. Additionally, our MGA and LGA have graciously volunteered to start an “Adopt-a-Hole” program. Please watch for details regarding all of these exciting opportunities!
Happenings Around the Club:
September & October have supplanted May & June for the busiest wedding months, so Greg and Madison will barely catch their breath as they pivot and begin to prepare for our Holiday Season at the Club. Madison has an active Member Event calendar to include our Halloween Carnival, Annual Thanksgiving Feast, Pontoon Tour of Lights, our Member Christmas Celebration, Polar Express, Gingerbread House Construction, Parents Day Out and Brunch with Santa; just to name a few! Don’t forget our annual Holiday Market on Friday, November 17th. We will host more than 20 local vendors featuring an assortment of wonderful Christmas Gifts! Of course, Greg and Madison will find time to exquisitely decorate the Club while Greg plans Holiday parties for local businesses, our Members and their families. Even though Greg and Madison each have distinct responsibilities, they truly approach every event as a team to ensure all events are flawlessly planned and executed. I am eternally grateful for the passion they displayed making my family's recent events unforgettable.
Save the Date:
Finally, as New Year’s Eve falls on a Sunday this year, we thought we would try a unique celebration. Jason and the Aubri Lane's team will serve a New Year’s Eve Brunch Sunday morning and his wonderful ala carte dinner menu on Sunday evening. The Club will host a Bon-Fire near the Tennis Courts at 10:00 pm followed by a Pyrotechnic show to ring in the New Year. Please watch for upcoming announcements on all our wonderful Holiday Events as we round out 2023 and welcome 2024.
Thank you for allowing our team to serve!
